Senior Hydrologist/Surface Water Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Hydrologist/Surface Water Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering surface water engineering projects to a broad range of clients across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering surface water engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Applying hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software to support project delivery.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop models and prepare quality reports for internal and external clients.
  • Developing relationships with clients and SLR team members to deliver excellent results.
  • Contributing to the development of proposals and identifying the value proposition to assist clients meet their deadlines.
  • Providing advice and assistance to internal and external clients, team members and Project Managers on best principles and practices.
Requirements:
  • A relevant Engineering tertiary qualification and significant industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, particularly application of two-dimensional hydraulic modelling.
  • Experience in hydrological modelling and assessments, including Australian Rainfall and Runoff and relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of associated areas of surface water engineering, such as stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, water quality assessment, streamflow assessments and flood risk analysis.
  • Experience in the assessment of and input into design of water related structures, e.g. dams, levees and diversions.
  • Knowledge or experience in MUSIC or GoldSim modelling would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in EIS/EA amendment approvals would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills and technical report writing ability.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A strong track record in building, nurturing and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
  • Excellent driving history and hold a current driver's license.
