As an Arbitration Officer, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the resolution of workplace disputes.

The impact of your work will be significant. You will contribute to a framework that enables injured workers and employers to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives.

We are seeking highly skilled individuals to join our team as Arbitration Officers. In this role, you will serve as independent statutory decision-makers, conducting arbitration hearings and determining disputes.

With integrity, accountability, and a collaborative mindset, you will:

  • Conduct arbitration hearings in a fair, impartial, and informal manner
  • Evaluate evidence and submissions to make clear, lawful, evidence-based determinations
  • Manage a diverse caseload of disputes for arbitration and produce well-structured, concise, and clear determinations
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships

To succeed in this role, you will require relevant tertiary qualifications in law, dispute resolution, or business management, along with extensive experience in conciliation, arbitration, or alternative dispute resolution.

Additionally, you will need comprehensive knowledge of, and experience working within, the Victorian WorkCover scheme or similar schemes, as well as well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

You will engage with a broad range of audiences, fostering strong relationships and driving outcomes.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, dispute resolution, or business management
  • Extensive experience in conciliation, arbitration, or alternative dispute resolution
