Job Overview

This role offers the opportunity to develop a high degree of proficiency in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, as part of a dynamic team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high level of mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment and fault finding.
  • Perform service and repairs with minimal supervision from a Maintenance Crew Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a motivated team to achieve safe and efficient operations.

Key Requirements

  • A relevant trade qualification is essential.
  • Applicable Coal Competencies are required.
  • A current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface) certification is necessary.
  • A current Queensland Driver's licence is required.
  • A thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations is expected.
  • Advanced and proven mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment and fault finding is essential.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Sound communication skills are crucial.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheeting, are required.
  • A highly skilled and proven ability to identify and diagnose faults on heavy mining equipment is necessary.
  • The ability to self-manage, prioritise workload, and demonstrate a strong work ethic is expected.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and co-operatively as required.
  • Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment is desirable.
  • Proven previous experience with fault finding on heavy mining equipment is essential.
