Our organization is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Senior Child Protection Counsellor. This position requires a strong commitment to improving the emotional, social and mental wellbeing of children, young people, parents/carers and their families where there has been a confirmed history of violence and neglect.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled counsellor to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. As a Senior Child Protection Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing specialist counselling and interventions that are trauma-informed and responsive to the needs of your clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counselling and Intervention: Provide individual and group counselling sessions to children, young people and their families, using evidence-based practices and approaches.
  • Case Coordination: Coordinate intake, assessment, case planning and referral functions to ensure that clients receive comprehensive support services.
  • Advocacy and Liaison: Advocate on behalf of clients and liaise with other health professionals and community agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also require a high level of emotional intelligence, cultural competence and understanding of the impact of trauma on children and families.
