A global investment bank and asset management firm is seeking a seasoned Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant to join their Melbourne team.
Job Overview- Reporting directly to the Manager of Financial Reporting & Tax, this role involves working closely with other teams to achieve client reporting objectives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing high-level client service and being the first point of contact for accounting and tax queries.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and templates.
- Preparing and reviewing trust distributions, superannuation fund tax provisions, tax returns, and BAS returns.
- Identifying and improving current core processes and procedures to ensure they are updated with changes in regulations and industry trends.
- Working closely with the Financial Reporting and Tax manager on new product developments and process improvement projects.
- Oversight of offshore teams' output and performance.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CA or CPA qualifications highly regarded.
- Tertiary degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or similar fields.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience working within a custodian, superannuation fund, or investment manager accounting/tax team.
- Demonstrated understanding of regulatory reporting requirements – APRA, ABS, BAS, PAYG.
- Technical knowledge and practical application of accounting and tax concepts as they relate to Managed Investment Schemes (MIS's) and Superannuation funds.
- Understanding of different trust structures and entity types.
- Proficiency in utilizing financial statements and tax reporting system tools, including Excel.
We offer an estimated salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
