A leading investment management and fund administration company is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join their Melbourne team. With a strong potential for extension or transition into a permanent position, this opportunity offers the chance to work closely with other teams to achieve client reporting objectives.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Reporting Accountant to provide a high level of client service and be the first point of contact in relation to all accounting and tax queries for an allocation of clients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and templates, as well as trust distributions, superannuation fund tax provisions, and tax returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional client service and be the primary point of contact for accounting and tax inquiries.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and templates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of trust distributions, superannuation fund tax provisions, and tax returns.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, ensuring seamless integration with changes in regulations and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting and Tax Manager on new product developments and process improvement projects.
  • Oversight of offshore teams' output and performance.

Requirements:

  • CA or CPA qualifications highly regarded.
  • Tertiary degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a Custodian, Superannuation fund, or Investment Manager accounting/tax team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory reporting requirements, including APRA, ABS, BAS, and PAYG.
  • Technical expertise in accounting and tax concepts related to Managed Investment Schemes (MIS) and Superannuation funds.
  • Knowledge of different trust structures and entity types.
  • Proficiency in utilizing financial statement and tax reporting system tools, including Excel.

About the Role
