Bookkeeper Job Description

As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing administrative support to our clients.

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting software, preferably Xero, and excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and possess intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office packages. They will also be able to use Xero/MYOB or other related software programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accounts and returns
  • Account reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliations
  • BAS statements
  • Preparation of draft budgets
  • Tracking of expenditure to budget vs actual expenditure
  • Data entry/computer input
  • Preparation of draft financial statements for board meeting packs
  • Preparation and reporting of financial reports for acquittal of Government Grants

Requirements:

  • Completion of TAFE or Business College administration course
  • Essential attributes include strong attention to detail, ability to work autonomously, and strong communication skills
