Healthcare Professional Role

The primary objective of this position is to enhance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through comprehensive primary healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality healthcare, including assessment, examination, treatment, and case management.
  • Contribute to the development of holistic healthcare models that incorporate continuity of care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice
  • AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner
  • Effective communication skills with Aboriginal peoples
  • Understanding of unique issues impacting Aboriginal health
  • Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork and conflict resolution
  • Sound written, computer, and communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills with adaptability
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WA)
  • National Criminal History Check Certificate (Police Clearance - valid within 3 months)
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in Community or Aboriginal Health
  • Hold a current Immunisation certificate
  • Phlebotomy competency and currency of practice
  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of Communicare or similar clinical database system
  • Ability to travel on Outreach up to 4 nights at a time, if required
