Perishable Operations Specialist Job Summary

This role plays a critical part in managing temperature-sensitive goods from origin to destination.

The successful candidate will ensure timely completion of documentation and meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage processes for handling required shipping documents.
  • Coordinate timely delivery of perishable goods through effective pickup arrangements.
Accountabilities:
  • Create and confirm transport orders to ensure accurate pickup of shipments at origin.
  • Perform booking and optimization tasks for efficient logistics management.
  • Prepare export documents for carriers, consignees, and suppliers.
  • Verify responses from counterparts and finalize validation of required documents.
  • Monitor shipment status, identify incidents, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with customer service for incident and exception management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers for performance improvement and correction.
  • Perform IT-related tasks to provide up-to-date information on shipments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • CargoWise system experience is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of AFR/OFR Export Operations is necessary.
  • Minimum one year's experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight operational roles is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics principles is required.
  • Dangerous Goods Accreditation is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and administration skills are essential.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and results-driven approach is required.
