We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Perishable Goods Specialist. This role plays a crucial part in the movement of perishable goods, ensuring timely and efficient distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage processes for handling and distributing required documentation in the shipping area.
- Coordinate pickup arrangements and ensure customer requirements are met.
- Prepare, control, and distribute all necessary Export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.).
- Follow up on shipment status, identify incidents, and resolve issues.
- Support Customer Service in incident and exception management resolution.
- Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and identify performance issues.
- Propose solutions to improve or correct supplier performance.
- Perform IT systems-related tasks to provide up-to-date information on shipments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- CargoWise system experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge of AFR/OFR Export Operations is essential.
- Minimum one year previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight operational roles is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics in general is necessary.
- Dangerous Goods Accreditation is highly regarded.
- Results & outcome driven individuals are encouraged to apply.
- Able to work independently with high degree of reliability and attention to detail.
- Be a team player with a positive can-do attitude.
- Be results-driven and demonstrate strong communication and administration skills.
