Perishables Operations Specialist Role

The Perishables Operations Specialist is a critical function within the Operations team, responsible for ensuring smooth handling and distribution of perishable goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage documentation: Handle and distribute all required shipping area documents efficiently.
  • Pickup coordination: Arrange pickups to meet customer requirements promptly.
Accountabilities:
  • Transport orders creation: Create and confirm transport orders to ensure timely shipment pickup.
  • Booking optimization: Perform booking and optimize bookings to ensure efficient operations.
  • Export document preparation: Prepare, control, and distribute Export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.).
  • Document validation: Check responses from counterparts and finalize validation of required documents.
  • Shipment monitoring: Monitor shipment status and resolve any incidents that may arise.
  • Collaboration with Customer Service: Collaborate with Customer Service to resolve exceptions and incidents.
Requirements:
  • CargoWise system experience: Minimum one year of previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight operational roles.
  • Afr/Ofr export operations knowledge: Extensive knowledge of AFR/OFR Export Operations.
  • Results-driven and independent work: Results-driven and able to work independently with high degree of reliability and attention to detail.
  • Government regulations: Familiarity with government regulations and ability to adapt to changes daily.
  • Communication and administration skills: Strong communication and administration skills.
