About This Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time position based in Bendigo, with a focus on engaging with the local Aboriginal community. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and society, as well as the issues impacting the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor regional performance and contribute to the development of policy and procedures that strengthen culturally appropriate case practice.
  • Support regional-specific workforce development initiatives, connecting Aboriginal clients to supports and services.
  • Guide case management staff to improve connectedness to programs and cultural supports for Aboriginal clients.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture, and the issues impacting it.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of culturally safe and supportive case management practices for Aboriginal clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community.

The Justice Department is committed to delivering an effective corrections system for a safe community. Our Community Correctional Services (CCS) team is responsible for the management and supervision of prisoners on parole and clients under post-sentence supervision and court orders.
