About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Specialist to join our team in Guam.

The successful candidate will serve as a senior telecommunications specialist and advisor to the chief of DISA PAC Guam Field Office, focusing on Australia's telecommunications integration.

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a high level of professionalism.

Duties:

  • Serves as a senior telecommunications specialist and advisor to the chief of DISA PAC Guam Field Office.
  • Focusing on Australia's telecommunications integration.
  • Makes authoritative technical decisions and commitments within general policy limitations.
  • Resolves complex technical and operational situations, such as coalition interoperability challenges and computer network defense matters that adversely affect performance.
  • Works directly with coalition partners to resolve conflicts and negotiates with higher headquarters to prioritize work and restoration of communications service challenges/outages.
  • Coordinates with and assists other government agencies, contractors, and foreign governments in planning, implementing, and maintaining information systems for Australia.
  • Plays a key role in planning, development, deployment, installation, provisioning, operations, maintenance, logistics support, and quality assurance.
  • Acts as a consultant to the chief of DISA PAC Guam on all matters pertaining to the planning, analyzing, coordination, and implementation of telecommunications activities for a broad range of complex projects.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from selective service.
  • This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • The position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/ADP I/Critical Sensitive clearance.
  • This is a Key Position.
  • This is an Emergency Essential position.
  • This is a Drug Testing Position.

Qualifications:

  • To qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
  • To qualify at the GG-0391-13 level, your resume must describe at least one year of experience demonstrating the necessary competencies for immediate success in the position.
  • Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

Desirable Skills:

  • Initiating, coordinating, presenting, and defending command views.
  • Negotiating agreements on information technology controversial issues.
  • Making authoritative technical decisions and commitments within general policy limitations.
