Job Overview:

The Dealership Automotive Workshop Control role is a critical position that ensures efficient throughput and job flow between service advisors and technicians.

  • Coordinate daily workshop activities and assign repair orders to service technicians using our Dealer Management System.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, managing a team of over 40 technicians and apprentices.
  • Manage the workshop team to maximise productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Maintain an on-time delivery rate to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Identify technician strengths and weaknesses to allocate work effectively while creating opportunities to develop the team's skills.
  • Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate vehicle progress and any additional work needed to customers.
  • Monitor and improve job throughput to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster a supportive environment focused on customer satisfaction and team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Service Manager and Workshop Manager to implement best practices and streamline processes.
  • Maintain high standards of service quality and ensure compliance with industry protocols.
About You:
  • Prior experience as a Foreman or Workshop Controller in a similar dealership setting.
  • Demonstrate expertise in dealership training and experience, particularly within European brands, to drive efficiencies in the workshop.
  • Show ability to maintain workshop productivity and efficiency levels.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor, including apprentices.
  • Be reliable, self-motivated, resilient, and have a great work ethic.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of teamwork with the ability to work within a dynamic workshop environment.
  • Hold a current driver's license.
