About the role
Complete Hire Equipment Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our workshop in Altona North, Victoria. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of all workshop services.
What you'll be doing
Supervising and coordinating the work of technicians to ensure all jobs are completed to a high standard and on time and being hands on
Overseeing the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of equipment
Monitoring workshop productivity and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency
Managing parts ordering, inventory control, and workshop budgets
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to the workshop team
Fostering a positive team culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and maintaining strong safety and operational standards
Providing mentorship and leadership, conducting regular reviews, and performance management.
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or Senior Technician, leading mechanical teams
Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles and equipment
Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills
Mechanical Trade Qualification (Light Vehicle qualified applicants encouraged to apply).
Experience in diesel mechanics (forklift or materials handling equipment highly regarded). A relevant trade qualification or certificate in automotive engineering or a related field
Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of building a cohesive, productive team
A current driver's licence and the ability to operate a range of vehicles and equipment
