About the Role- You will solve complex real-world problems, identifying and building market-leading solutions, and contribute to the energy sector's growth.
As a Senior Trading Analyst, you'll collaborate with our Algorithm Development team to design and refine algorithms and applications that power automated energy trading. You'll assist Traders in unlocking commercial opportunities from Australia's largest private electricity generation portfolio and contracts in various gas markets.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and interpreting business needs; analyzing, designing, and implementing trading algorithms and supporting application development.
- Identifying, exploring, and communicating opportunities and strategies to leverage the asset portfolio and capture value.
- Tracking performance of existing and new algorithm implementations and assessing new opportunities from market information.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of the NEM, gas markets, and AGL's position in these markets, as well as the importance of compliance with National Electricity Rules/National Gas Rules.

- You are comfortable working in an ever-changing environment with strong curiosity and a proactive approach to seeking new knowledge.
- As a technical innovator and creative problem solver, you enjoy developing business logic and algorithms from inception through production.
