Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Energy Policy Strategist to provide high-quality policy research and advice on issues to support transparency, consumer protections and affordability in Victoria's energy retail market.

This leadership role will be responsible for leading the delivery of policy research and advice on matters relating to energy consumer policy, with a focus on consumers. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Victorian energy framework and be able to provide strategic advice to stakeholders.

The Energy Policy Strategist will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement policies that promote a fair and sustainable energy market. They will also be responsible for providing input into the development of government positions on key energy policy issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification in public policy, economics or law is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience with government processes, with a focus on policy development and delivery is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Victorian and national energy frameworks, with a focus on consumers, is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 24 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria, with hybrid work arrangements available.
