Aviation Training Specialist

We are seeking an experienced aviation training specialist to deliver academic, practical and on-the-job training and assessment to provide job ready, confident and competent maintenance technicians.

The successful candidate will be involved in developing and implementing methods of face-to-face training as well as exploring student-centred learning methodologies. You will be responsible for creating training materials and practical activities to consolidate the trainees' learning experience.

You will work as part of a customer-focused team to provide exceptional support to students and key stakeholders within our contract located at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.

As an aviation training specialist, you will deliver contracted CH-47F (SG) B1.3 Aircraft Type and associated maintenance support training in a theory and practical environment. You will also work in the capacity of a CH47F Course Manager in accordance with Course Management procedures.

To maintain currency on Aircraft Type as a maintainer, as part of continuous improvement. Additionally, you will support the development of the DASR 147 aligned Training System.

To be considered for the role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience on CH47F Aircraft Avionics Type Qualification (B1.3 MAML), or equivalent and 10 years' experience as a Rotary Wing B1.3 Aviation Maintenance Tradesperson, Aviation Supervisor, and/or Aviation Maintenance Manager.
  • A Certificate IV in Aero skills (Avionics)

The ideal candidate will have experience with the delivery of training in the Defence environment, interpersonal skills to work in a multi-trade team environment, and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116) or equivalent qualification. They will also have a strong understanding of DASA Part 147 and 66 Regulations.
