About the Role

HeliMods is a pioneering aerospace technology company based in Queensland, Australia. We operate a cutting-edge facility on the Sunshine Coast, where we design and manufacture innovative aerospace products.

This role is part of our dynamic production team, where you will work closely with engineers and production experts to assemble and inspect complex parts using advanced manufacturing technology.

As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for performing production assembly and quality inspection operations to a high standard, with minimal supervision. You will work with production process data, including PMI, assembly work instructions, and commercial specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Assembly and Quality Inspection: Perform production assembly and quality inspection operations to a high standard on complex parts.
  • Collaboration with Engineering and Production Teams: Engage closely with engineering and production teams on First of Type assembly processes, capturing required assembly information to inform the evolution of production processes.
  • Production Process Data Interpretation: Understand and interpret production process data, including PMI, assembly work instructions, and commercial specifications.
  • Issue Reporting and Defect Management: Report issues and defects relating to production operations, including appropriately detailed supporting information, and follow non-conformity processes.
Requirements and Skills
  • Relevant Trade or Tertiary Qualifications: Hold relevant trade or tertiary qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 Years' Experience: Possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in advanced manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
  • Proven Experience in Manual Mechanical Assembly: Have proven experience performing manual mechanical assembly.
