HeliMods, an internationally renowned aerospace technology company, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Assembly Operations Specialist. Based in Queensland's Sunshine Coast, we operate a world-class facility and offer a dynamic work environment.

The role involves working with our high-technology equipment to produce, maintain, and repair aircraft components and systems. As part of our growing production team, you will interface with cutting-edge engineering manufacturing technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reading and interpreting digital drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports;
  • Using appropriate tooling and practices to fabricate wiring harnesses, including termination and assembly in accordance with wiring diagrams or schematics;
  • Performing manual assembly during the small-scale production of electronic devices used in avionic systems and medical equipment;
  • Assembling electrical or electronic systems or support structures and installing components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings;
  • Populating or modifying/ replacing components on printed circuit board assemblies;
  • Completing functional testing, quality and assurance inspections, and defect diagnosis and rectification;
  • Adhering to required organisational approvals, including the CAR 30 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) exposition;
  • Applying advanced trade knowledge and experience to perform production assembly process operations to a high standard on complex parts with limited supervision using tools in accordance with production process data;
  • Engaging closely with Engineering and Production teams on First of Type assembly processes, capturing required assembly information to inform the evolution of production processes;
  • Understanding and interpreting production process data (e.g., Parts Manufacturing Information - PMI, Assembly work instructions, Commercial Specifications, Tools);
  • Reporting issues and defects relating to production operations (including appropriately detailed supporting information) and following non-conformity processes, including performing rework order process operations when required;
  • Maintaining accurate records and traceability of production process operations, including inputs and outputs;
  • Performing verification process operations on input parts and assemblies using company and industry standard testing tools and approaches;
  • Performing required quality processes, including checking and maintaining calibrated tools and equipment used in electrical assembly work centre operations;

In addition to your technical skills and expertise, you will have:

  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience, preferably in advanced manufacturing within the aerospace or automotive industry;
  • Proven experience performing manual assembly of electronic devices;

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $85,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
