Job Opportunity: Intermediate Draftsperson

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our engineering consulting team in WA.

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of engineering projects for slurry and water pipeline transportation systems, backfill plants and slurry dewatering.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Production of drawings/MTO/lists as well as 2D and 3D models across mechanical, process, piping, civil, and structural disciplines.
  • Development of drawings from engineers' sketches with limited input.
  • Undertake and supervise document control activities.
  • Adhere to company policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Perform clash detection of design models against as-built models, or other consultants'/clients' design models.
  • Training of junior team members.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace/Occupational Health & Safety protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Australian work authorization.
  • Formal training/qualification in Drafting, consistent with a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with CAD software.
  • 2+ Years work experience in mechanical/pipeline drafting (including 2D and 3D modelling for slurry, water, waste, mineral processing and/or oil & gas).
  • Experience working with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenPlant packages.
  • Prior supervisory work experience.
  • Computer literacy skills, including MS Office package.
  • Skill in one or more CAD software packages covering entire workflow from setup and 2D/3D modelling to drawing/model production.
  • Attention to detail/organisational skills.
  • Supervision/delegation skills.
  • Customer service acumen.
