Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team at Michael Page. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll for 1000 employees across both Australia and New Zealand, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Process payroll for 1000 employees within deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian laws and regulations.
  • Staff Administration: Create and maintain staff personnel files, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Benefits Administration: Calculate termination benefits and leave entitlements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Financial Management: Balance payroll ledger accounts, prepare payroll and budget reports, and ensure timely ATO and superannuation payments.
  • HR Support: Interpret awards and agreements, assist with HR administration, and provide support to employees and management.
  • End-of-Year Processing: Manage end-of-year payroll processing and STP payment summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Payroll Officer or in a related role.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian awards and payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the usage of Oracle and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Desirable: Understanding of TIPT/QMS systems, although not required.
