Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Officer to join our team at Michael Page. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for processing payroll for 1000 employees within deadlines across both Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Process payroll for 1000 employees within deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian awards and payroll legislation.
  • Staff Personnel Files: Create and maintain staff personnel files, ensuring all necessary documentation is up-to-date and compliant.
  • Termination Benefits and Leave Entitlements: Calculate termination benefits and leave entitlements, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Payroll Ledger Accounts: Balance payroll ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Payroll and Budget Reports: Prepare payroll and budget reports, providing insights into financial performance.
  • ATO and Superannuation Payments: Ensure timely ATO and superannuation payments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Awards and Agreements: Interpret awards and agreements, assisting with HR administration and ensuring compliance.
  • End-of-Year Payroll Processing: Manage end-of-year payroll processing and STP payment summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years experience as a Payroll Officer, with a strong understanding of Australian awards and payroll legislation.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, with experience using Oracle and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Desirable: Understanding of TIPT/QMS systems, although not required.
