Project engineers play a pivotal role in Sydney's transport infrastructure development, overseeing routine maintenance and strategic enhancements. Our team manages the Harbour Zone through ConnectSydney, a joint venture with Transport for NSW.
About the RoleWe seek a skilled project engineer to join our Corridor Projects Delivery Team. Your technical expertise will be instrumental in managing, planning, organizing, coordinating, delivering, monitoring and reporting activities related to signage, de-vegetation, bridge, drainage and slope maintenance projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Achieving project completion and submission of deliverables on time, within budget and to quality standard as agreed with project managers.
- Preparing, updating and implementing project portfolios.
- Delivering work within budget.
- Managing contractors and staff who deliver projects in consultation with your manager.
- Preparing lists of deliverables / tasks from each project and transferring them to baseline design schedules.
- Developing delivery phases and interface activities.
- Coordinating with internal and external design teams for design requirements.
- Liaising with clients, sites and vendors on delivery phase documentation and meetings.
- Ensuring compliance with Safety, Environmental, Community and Quality policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and addressing design changes and non-conformances.
- Undertaking project management activities for road infrastructure, structural, corridor, tunnel and ITS projects.
About You
Our ideal candidate has:
- A degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Essential).
- 5+ years experience in civil/infrastructure project delivery.
- Preferred track record in Bridge, slope remediation or drainage projects.
- Familiarity with setting up project teams and site establishment relating to multidiscipline projects.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and MS Project.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Results-driven, solution-oriented and deadline-focused approach.
- Accountability, agility and resilience.
- Collaborative team player with a commercial mindset.
- Commitment to safety, sustainability and excellence in delivery.
