Key Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Substantial experience in infrastructure planning, civil design, asset management and capital works delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in local government or large-scale civil infrastructure environments.
  • A deep understanding of asset lifecycle management and strategic infrastructure planning.
  • Experience with Maintenance Management and Asset Management Systems.
  • Strong commercial, contract, and financial management capabilities.
  • Able to manage stakeholder relationships and influence across departments.
  • A proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure programs on time and within budget.
About You

You are a seasoned engineer with expertise in infrastructure planning, civil design, and asset management. You possess excellent leadership skills and have experience working in local government or large-scale civil infrastructure environments. Your skills in asset lifecycle management, strategic infrastructure planning, and maintenance management systems are highly valued.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Engineering Services team: Provide strategic direction and guidance for project planning, asset renewal, and design.
  • Asset Owner: Act as the asset owner for roads, footpaths, kerb & gutter, stormwater infrastructure, and marine assets.
  • Capital Works Program Delivery: Deliver the Capital Works Program in line with time, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Asset Management Plans: Lead the development and implementation of Asset Management Plans, policies, and condition-based programs.
  • Civil Infrastructure Design: Oversee complex civil infrastructure design and apply strategic planning to project delivery.
  • Traffic and Transport Planning: Lead initiatives in traffic and transport planning, road safety, parking strategy, and active transport infrastructure.
  • Engineering Input: Manage engineering input into development proposals and infrastructure-related policies.
  • Expert Technical Advice: Provide expert technical advice across all levels of the organization.
  • Budget and Contract Management: Ensure effective budget and contract management across design and infrastructure portfolios.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering team.
