Staff Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Practitioner to join our team at the Launceston General Hospital as a Staff Specialist in General Medicine/Acute Care Services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist medical care to patients attending the Launceston General Hospital (LGH)
- Be involved in research and quality improvement activities, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the LGH
- Provide specialist advice to inpatient units as required
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
- Holds specialist registration or is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway or has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the specialty
- Experience in acute stroke care including thrombolysis and intermediate care models including hospital avoidance programs would be beneficial
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of general medicine and acute care services
