We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our team as the Head of Operations at the Australia Telescope National Facility. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the operational excellence of our telescopes and associated activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the ATNF Operations group, including site leaders, computing infrastructure team, and visitor centres & accommodation teams.
- Collaborate with the ATNF leadership team to strategically deploy personnel and coordinate staff deployment across projects and operations.
- Develop initiatives that promote a vibrant and supportive workplace, ensuring safety and sustainability are prioritised.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre and the CSIRO IT team, to build strong partnerships.

About the Australia Telescope National FacilityThe ATNF operates several radio astronomy observatories and data archives, collectively known as the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF). Our technology development program is internationally recognised for innovative radio astronomy instrumentation.
What We Offer- An attractive salary package plus 15.4% superannuation.
- A specified term of five years with the possibility of an underlying indefinite research appointment.

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrated infrastructure management expertise in a research environment.
- Experience in leading a high-performance culture in a research environment/organisation.
- Experience of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
- A willingness and ability to travel interstate, as required.
