Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Freight Manager to oversee perishables operations in Sydney.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase business opportunities in the perishables sector, both nationally and internationally.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with relevant authorities, including RACA, RMP, MPI, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Arrange for Australian Quality Inspection Solutions (AQIS) inspections, calibration, and fumigation as needed.
  • Support senior team members in department operations, conducting performance assessments, training & development, and evaluations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and internal stakeholders.
  • Achieve department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as set by the National Perishables Manager.
  • Liaise with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and internal departments.
  • Coordinate transport and cartage arrangements, prepare quotations, and negotiate rates with airlines when necessary.
  • Provide hands-on assistance in all aspects of operation.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a Freight Manager, preferably within a logistics or freight forwarding company.
  • Extensive knowledge of air freight, sea freight, and logistics management.
  • Strong understanding of perishable export operations.
  • Demonstrated business development skills, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various transportation channels in the freight industry.
  • Understanding of industry terminology.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed KPI and targets.
