Rehabilitation and education are at the forefront of our mission to empower individuals within the correctional system. As a General Education teacher, you will play a pivotal role in this endeavor.

Bendigo Kangan Institute is one of Victoria's largest TAFE providers, offering a range of vocational education and training programs. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality General Education and conducting competency-based assessments that cater to the holistic development of students.

This is a collaborative environment focused on achieving positive outcomes for students. You will work with Corrections teams to impart essential skills, enriching their educational experience and contributing to their overall development. Your dedication will have a significant impact on these individuals, empowering them with skills they need to succeed both during their time within the correctional facility and as they integrate into society.

This role goes beyond traditional teaching, offering a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you teach and in the broader prison community. You will be part of a team that values authenticity, collaboration, and growth.

We are looking for an advocate for vocational education who possesses:

  • TAE40110 or TAE40116 (including TAEASS501 and TAELLN411) or higher VET teaching qualification, or is currently enrolled with the view of completing this within two years
  • Vocational qualifications and competencies
  • Strong communication and engagement skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously
