Multidisciplinary Child Safety Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Multidisciplinary Child Safety Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires excellent analytical, assessment and communication skills.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child safety principles and practices, as well as experience working in a multi-disciplinary service model.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Undertaking assessments to identify and address safety and risk concerns for children and young people
  • Engaging in collaborative practice that acknowledges and respects the culture and context of each child, young person and their carers/family
  • Sourcing timely, accurate and comprehensive information and making evidence-based decisions in line with the child/young person's safety, welfare and wellbeing
  • Modeling ethical and curious casework that is responsive to the changing needs of children, young people and families
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' frontline experience in statutory child protection services or within statutory investigation services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships
  • A valid driver's licence (P1 or above)
  • A paid working with children clearance number
