
Support Family Caregivers Needed

Caregivers are needed to provide early intervention and family support strategies to individuals and families. This role will involve identifying barriers to family functioning and providing case management services to support families in developing skills and strategies for a stronger care and protection of children at home. The position requires working with culturally diverse individuals and families, including those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Job DescriptionThis job involves assisting families to put into practice strategies they have learned and providing early intervention focused services to strengthen the care and protection of children living at home. It also includes contributing to community education and support groups according to program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally appropriate and flexible family support strategies to diverse individuals and families, including CALD communities and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Assist individuals and families in implementing parenting and household skills learned through training programs.
- Support families to strengthen their capacity to care for children safely and effectively, addressing any identified safety risks.
- Contribute to planning and delivery of community-based education programs, group work, and support services in line with organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate records and data entry for case management databases, adhering to agency guidelines.
- Engage in cultural events and activities, fostering relationships with local communities and other service providers.
- Develop effective partnerships with government agencies and non-profit organizations to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
- Embody a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of this role.
- Participate in regular supervision, professional development opportunities, team meetings, and staff gatherings as required.
To be successful in this position, candidates must possess relevant qualifications or experience in human services, community development, or a related field. Essential skills include experience in similar roles using strength-based frameworks, working with CALD and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining current driver's licenses. Desirable attributes include prior experience in community education, group work, and not-for-profit sectors.
