Job Title: Strategic Planning Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as a Strategic Planning Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of planning in Victoria and develop a first-class planning system.

The Strategic Planning Lead will report to the Deputy Secretary, Planning and Land Services, and will be responsible for reviewing and shaping the future structure of planning in Victoria.

The Department brings together key planning, transport, land, precinct, and policy functions to create thriving places, connected communities, and local economic opportunities across the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead reform initiatives and shape the future of planning in Victoria
  • Develop a first-class planning system that is efficient and effective with clear guidelines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build confident, collaborative teams with a positive culture in large complex environments
  • Provide informed advice to government and engage professionally with ministers
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have extensive knowledge of and experience in planning at a senior executive level. You will have a proven track record of leading change and improvement initiatives, influencing and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders, and building high-performing teams.

Tertiary qualifications in urban planning or a related field are expected.
