Trusted Fitters Wanted for Heavy Equipment Maintenance

We are seeking skilled and experienced Fitters (General) to join our client's team at Maxitrans, a leading Australian manufacturer of high-quality engineered road transport equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements.
Salary: $65,000-$90,000 per annum based on experience, depending on the candidate's skills and qualifications.
About the Job- 10 full-time positions available
The successful candidate will be expected to perform workshop repairs and maintenance, new machine pre-delivery preparation and inspection, customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and cross-functional support.
Main Responsibilities- Fault finding, repairs, and services including but not limited to:
- Diesel and petrol engines
- Diesel, petrol, and LPG fuel systems
- Steering systems
- Transmissions – hydrostatic, Powershift, and manual
- Brake systems
- Hydraulic valves and cylinders
- Electrical starting, charging, and accessories
- Service and diagnostic repairs
- Liaise with the spare parts team to determine the required parts for repairs
- To complete repair and services within reasonable time frames
- To process workshop service/repair documentation daily
- Work safely, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided, and comply with Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H) legislation
- Excellent interpersonal relationship and customer-focused skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Warm personality and open-minded attitude
- Self-motivated
- Good technical background experience
- Hard worker and practical personality
- Solid analysing and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical problems
- Good Team spirit and experience working in a small team is an advantage
