Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor

We are a leading provider of port solutions and logistics services with bulk and general handling facilities in over 40 Australian, New Zealand and South East Asian ports. Our subsidiary, Qube Energy/Forestry, operates within the forestry industry.
Job SummaryThe Equipment Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the site's compliance with client, regulatory, and company responsibilities, focusing on safety through effective plant and equipment maintenance.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct and supervise all aspects of site maintenance operations.
- Utilize and oversee the Mainpac system to monitor maintenance needs and compliance.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair activities for Qube trucks, trailers, light vehicles, and other plant and equipment.
- Collaborate closely with the transport manager to ensure timely repair of the heavy vehicle fleet.
- Participate in after-hours on-call breakdowns as required.
- Determine defect priorities for repairs and work requests.
- Maintain open communication with the National Workshop Manager regarding any issues affecting Scheduled Maintenance.
- Ensure workplace safety hazards and risks are identified and controlled.
- Secure required parts for scheduled repairs/maintenance.
- Assist in coordinating, servicing, inspecting, and repairing earthmoving plant.
- Address day-to-day workplace issues or refer them to the National Equipment Manager if unable to resolve.
- Maintain lifting gear according to Australian Standards.
- Evaluate contractors' engagement, including Qube safety systems, supervision, and monitoring to meet requirements.
- Inspect lifting gear and components for wear and damage at least once per month or upon return from use.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Trade qualification as a heavy truck mechanic/diesel fitter.
- Strong interpersonal skills for communication with various people and cultures.
- Intermediate keyboard and computer experience using Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to work autonomously using proactive approaches to task resolution.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in demanding environments.
- Must hold doggers and/or riggers tickets.
- Knowledge of cargo handling procedures associated with wires, chains, and slings.
- Effective oral, listening, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to plan, direct, monitor, lead, and control a specified work group.
- Written communication skills.
- Visual perception skills.
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work at heights.
