We are a dynamic community-driven organization seeking an exceptional culinary professional to lead our kitchen team. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for designing seasonal menus that showcase creativity, innovation, and culinary expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing menu plans that cater to diverse tastes and dietary requirements.
  • Overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high-quality food production.
  • Fostering a collaborative environment, leading and mentoring kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs while maintaining quality standards and minimizing waste.
  • Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food handling procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collaborating with the venue management team to develop promotional events, special menus, and culinary initiatives that enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Conducting regular inspections and tastings to uphold food quality, presentation, and consistency, addressing any issues promptly and effectively.

To succeed in this role, you will be passionate about healthy, nutritious food and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Requirements:

  • Possessing a can-do attitude, physically fit to meet the role's inherent physical demands.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability and experience working as a part of a team.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent working experience.
  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume culinary environment.
  • Support the mission, values, and ethos of Avondale.
