We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Compliance Officer to join our Regional City Planning Department on a temporary full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with the Latrobe Planning Scheme, Planning Permits, and Section 173 Agreements.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate alleged breaches of planning schemes and take decisive action to ensure compliance using relevant legislation and notices.
- Raise awareness about planning controls among the community and developers, leading to higher compliance levels throughout the municipality.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve compliance and enforcement outcomes.
- Liaise and coordinate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community members, developers, and other government agencies.
- Search for solutions to new situations using technical expertise and knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritize work to achieve high-quality results.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential in this role.
- Experience in an enforcement-related position or within a Local Government Authority.
- Ability to interpret relevant Planning Acts, legislation, and policies and apply them to a range of planning situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and the ability to learn specialized systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Current Victorian Driver's License.
- Planning or Environmental Management qualifications.
