About the Role

We are seeking skilled professionals to join our esteemed healthcare team as Phlebotomists. The successful candidates will be offered Casual employment.

As a Phlebotomist within our organization, your primary responsibilities will involve serving patients through phlebotomy, specimen collection, and administration duties. You will provide a high level of customer service and care to patients, manage specimens in the pre-analytical stage, and ensure the delivery of quality samples for testing.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Collection of blood samples from adults, children, and infants
  • Registration of patients using pre-analytical management systems
  • Maintenance of equipment, consumables, and work areas in a clean, safe, and well-resourced state
  • Promotion of the philosophy of healthcare and values of Mater Health Services
Responsibilities
  1. Collect blood samples from adults, children, and infants
  2. Advise clients on special requirements prior to test procedures
  3. Register patients using pre-analytical management systems
  4. Maintain equipment, consumables, and work areas in a clean, safe, and well-resourced state
  5. Demonstrate excellent patient care and a strong commitment to customer service
About You

To be considered suitable for this position, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Certificate III in Phlebotomy or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Phlebotomist
  • Hold a valid QLD open driver's license
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to show empathy and understanding to patients
  • Good understanding of patient confidentiality
