Maintenance Technical Support

Role Overview:

The Maintenance Technical Support Engineer has a pivotal role in the Service Support Services Agreement. This position is responsible for collaborating with the client team in the Technical Remote Operations Centre to identify and resolve faults and failures within the System.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the System via the ATS and MDC for any alarms, issues or trends that may impact its performance or lead to an acute issue.
  • Review client-initiated tickets for each issue and verify required information has been provided.
  • Triage client-initiated tickets for each issue and determine the initial action required.
  • Coordinate with L2 and L3 teams on response requirements for client-initiated tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Analyse logs downloaded for associated ticket items.
  • Track timing of responses required for client-initiated tickets to ensure KPI adherence.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Computers, Software or Telecommunication Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of railway signalling systems, software and hardware.
  • Experience with railway operations such as ERTMS/ETCS, CBTC, Interlocking, ATP Systems.
  • Familiarity with Australian Railway Safety standards.
  • Able to interact with signalling sub-systems across the project team for technical convergence.
  • Significant experience in complex signalling design/multidisciplinary projects with a deep understanding of signalling design and interlocking principles, standards, components and fabrication methods.
  • Experience in Major Brownfield Signalling Projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Services and Engineering teams.
