Job Title:
Financial Control and Accounting Expert\

The primary role of the Financial Control and Accounting Expert is to provide high-quality financial control and accounting support across the organization. This position involves analyzing and resolving complex financial issues, preparing and delivering financial reports, and maintaining a broad level of technical accounting knowledge.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering standard month-end and year-end financial reports.\
  • Collaborating with colleagues to provide value-adding insights and accounting support to internal and external stakeholders.\
  • Maintaining a contemporary and substantial level of technical accounting knowledge.\
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in area of responsibility.\
  • Recommending improvements to processes where opportunities are identified.\
  • Providing accurate and timely responses to complex questions and queries.\
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively and successfully analyze and resolve difficult issues.\
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of technical accounting including experience in applying relevant Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations.\
  • Understanding of financial risks and relevant mitigating controls across end-to-end financial processes.\
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to efficiently and professionally manage stakeholder expectations.\
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting and CA/CPA qualified with demonstrated successful experience in a similar role.\
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant programs.\
  • Substantial experience with a variety of finance systems.\
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.\
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
