Financial Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounting Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to make a meaningful contribution to the company's financial management and sustainability goals.

Job Description:

The Financial Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles. They will oversee the processing of transactions, ensure compliance with Australian tax laws, and work collaboratively across departments to optimise payment cycles and billing structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely approvals, payments, and effective three-way matching.
  • Monitor vendor accounts and manage aging reports to guarantee prompt payments while resolving any disputes or discrepancies.
  • Ensure full compliance with GST regulations, withholding tax requirements, and internal financial controls.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or progress towards certification).
  • Experience in finance or accounting roles within multinational corporations or shared services environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS standards as well as local GAAP requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
