Heavy Equipment Transporter Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Combination Licence holder to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Transporter. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting heavy equipment safely and efficiently across the East Coast of Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Orica's fixed and mobile plant in accordance with company guidelines and policies
  • Be the subject matter expert on vehicle and equipment movements within the region
  • Provide training and assistance to new staff and drivers as required
  • Undertake various tasks around the Depot including, but not limited to, manufacturing, loading and unloading trucks, conducting maintenance work orders, and general depot yard work

Requirements:

  • A valid Heavy Combination Licence
  • A Forklift Licence and experience in operation
  • Previous experience driving a tilt deck trailer or float and transporting heavy equipment would be highly regarded
  • A practical understanding of permit requirements for over-dimensional loads
  • The ability to obtain a Permit to Work
  • A clean police record in order to obtain a Dangerous Goods and Explosives licence
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
  • A sound mechanical aptitude
