About Us
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Regulatory Services Operations team in delivering statutory and educational services, achieving compliance and excellent customer service while promoting good social behaviour in the community.
This role involves managing a range of programs and services contributing to the delivery of our Community Plan, including:
- Animal Management by-law enforcement
- Public Places by-law enforcement
- Signs, Hoardings and Advertising by-law enforcement
- Parking Regulation enforcement
- Regulatory Services Education Program support
- By-law Investigation, Legal Brief and Prosecution
- Liquor Application review and response
- Education and Policy initiatives
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have:
- Diploma in law, public policy, compliance or other related fields or extensive experience as a Ranger, By-laws Officer or in a similar position.
- High level animal management experience with a concise understanding of animal welfare and community education approaches.
- Proven experience in managing a team in a regulatory environment.
- Ability to interpret, adhere to, follow and regulate relevant Government legislation and policies.
- Solid knowledge of Local Government operations and Regulatory Services functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders and managing business correspondence.
- Ability to develop procedures for effective policy implementation in a regulatory environment.
- Experience in budget management for program delivery.
- Demonstrated negotiation, assessment and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment, particularly with Indigenous communities.
- A positive attitude and commitment to delivering quality customer service.
- Willingness to work weekends, emergencies and out-of-hours duties as rostered or required.
- Clear understanding of Work, Health and Safety practices and policies.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must be eligible to work in Australia, hold a Class C Drivers Licence, provide relevant qualifications and undergo a criminal history check.
