Health, Safety and Environment Lead

">Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment professional to lead our HSE efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of HSE across our operations, driving improvement initiatives and developing a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic initiatives, procedures and practices that positively impact the HSE culture, meet business goals and align with industry best practice.
  • Providing expert advice and direction to senior leaders and employees regarding effective HSE initiatives, compliance obligations and continuous improvement.
  • Managing risk to the organization, employees, customers, reputation, assets and interests through regular risk assessments and reviewing safety management plans.
  • Developing and implementing procedures, systems and practices that support the desired HSE culture while complying with relevant legislation requirements.
  • Leading and managing a small team responsible for developing and implementing effective HSE strategies, processes and procedures.

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or similar.
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental science and management or similar.
  • Experience in the Power Generation industry or heavy industrial industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety and risk legislation, management practices and systems that comply with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 31000.

This is a fixed term contract requiring Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency or other eligible visa type to work in Australia full time.

This position is a residential role based in Darwin with travel to TGen stations essential. Relocation assistance may be available.
