Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childcare Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the diverse dietary needs of children in care.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and time management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our childcare centre team. As a Childcare Cook, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals to children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare healthy, inclusive meals that meet the dietary needs of children in our care.
- Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene practices.
- Dietary Requirements: Cater to individual dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with childcare staff to support the health and wellbeing of children.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Work Health & Safety standards and procedures.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- A Certificate II/III in Food Services or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of National Quality Standards and Food Safety legislation.
- Experience preparing child-friendly menus in a care or institutional setting.
