Job Title: Childcare Centre Cook

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Childcare Centre Cook. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs of children in care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety regulations and children's health and nutrition standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, inclusive meals in accordance with food safety legislation and childcare nutritional guidelines.
  • Maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen environment, adhering to relevant food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Cater to individual dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.
  • Collaborate with childcare staff to support the health and wellbeing of children.
  • Ensure compliance with all Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Certificate II/III in Food Services or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of National Quality Standards and Food Safety legislation.
  • Experience preparing child-friendly menus in a care or institutional setting.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • First Aid and Mandated Notification Training.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
