Innovation Portfolio Specialist

Job Description

The Innovation Portfolio Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the end-to-end innovation process across an organization. This includes overseeing the complete innovation lifecycle, enhancing the operating model, and ensuring governance, agility, and visibility across all innovation activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain agile governance practices and standards.
  2. Manage innovation budgets, forecasts, and investment planning.
  3. Prepare and present monthly reports and strategic insights to stakeholders.
  4. Lead select innovation initiatives from concept to implementation.
  5. Support idea capture and triage, prioritizing based on strategic alignment and feasibility.
  6. Coordinate initiative closeout activities and lessons learned sessions.
  7. Maintain innovation policies, procedures, and reporting packs for governance bodies.
About You

This role requires strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for driving innovation. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex portfolios, engaging stakeholders, and delivering strategic outcomes in dynamic environments.

Required Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Innovation, Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in innovation, strategy, or project/portfolio management.
  • Experience in large organizations or transformation teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and executive-level reporting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with innovation methodologies (design thinking, lean startup, agile).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and organizational skills.
  • IAP2 Certification or equivalent.
