Biodiversity Lead Role

This position plays a vital role in shaping the future of ecological sustainability.

We are seeking an experienced Ecosystems Specialist to join our New South Wales biodiversity team. As a key member of our Environment & Planning Practice, you will lead a team of ecologists and work closely with our national network to deliver high-impact projects that protect and enhance the natural world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of ecologists to foster a collaborative culture and drive high-performing results.
  • Provide technical oversight of ecological and biodiversity assessments to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Deliver end-to-end project management, from scoping and fieldwork to reporting and client liaison.
  • Collaborate with our National biodiversity team to develop and implement ecology offerings and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulators to grow business opportunities and expand projects and teams.

You will be responsible for managing complex projects and delivering quality outcomes under time and budget constraints.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ideal BAM accreditation
  • Extensive experience in biodiversity, preferably in consulting settings with transport or energy markets
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a passion for developing others
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver quality outcomes under time and budget constraints
  • Proficiency in biodiversity legislation, impact assessments, and approvals processes (including NSW BAM and EPBC Act referrals)
  • Established presence in NSW with clients and regulators
