About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Teacher Special Education to join our team at Bomaderry High School. As a key member of our school community, you will play a critical role in supporting students with disabilities and fostering a culture of inclusion and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality teaching and learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students with disabilities
  • Lead and manage the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs) to ensure students achieve their full potential
  • Provide professional development and coaching to teachers and support staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in supporting students with disabilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide policies and procedures related to student support and inclusion
Requirements
  • Proven experience in teaching and supporting students with disabilities, including those with complex needs
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare, with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Ability to interpret and analyze student data to develop differentiated practice leading to improved outcomes for students with disabilities
