Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Costing Expert to join our team and contribute to a critical Defence initiative.

In this role, you will provide expert cost estimation and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making across the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with Defence stakeholders to ensure costing aligns with operational goals, procurement strategies, and value-for-money outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed cost models and estimates for Defence capability projects.
  • Engage with technical and financial stakeholders to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
  • Apply costing methodologies using tools such as CCT, ACEIT, or TruePlanning.
  • Identify cost drivers and assess financial risks and sensitivities.
  • Prepare clear, defensible costing documentation and present findings to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in cost estimation within Defence programs.
  • Proficiency in one or more Defence costing tools (Defence Capability Testing Tool (CCT), ACEIT, TruePlanning parametric costing tool).
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex costing concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Experience working in government or regulated environments is highly regarded.
  • Australian citizenship is required.
