Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Costing Specialist to join our team and contribute to a critical capability initiative.

In this role, you will provide expert cost estimation and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making across the project lifecycle. You'll work closely with stakeholders to ensure costing aligns with operational goals, procurement strategies, and value-for-money outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation within Defence programs, proficiency in one or more Defence costing tools (Defence Capability Testing Tool (CCT), ACEIT, TruePlanning parametric costing tool), and excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed cost models and estimates for Defence capability projects.
  • Engage with technical and financial stakeholders to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
  • Apply costing methodologies using tools such as CCT, ACEIT, or TruePlanning.
  • Identify cost drivers and assess financial risks and sensitivities.
  • Prepare clear, defensible costing documentation and present findings to senior stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in cost estimation within Defence programs.
  • Proficiency in one or more Defence costing tools.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex costing concepts clearly and confidently.
